Privacy Policy

Music Academy (operated by NOBL3 PTY. LTD., ABN 68681135562) respects your privacy. This page explains, in plain language, what personal information we collect through musicacademy.au and our student portal, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

Information we collect

When a parent or guardian books a trial lesson or enrols a student, we collect:

• Guardian details — name, email address, mobile number and postal address.
• Student details — name, date of birth, postcode, instrument and experience level, how you heard about us, an emergency contact name and phone number, and any medical or access notes you choose to share with us so lessons can be planned safely.
• Portal login — a PIN used to sign in to the student portal. We only ever store a one-way hash of your PIN, never the PIN itself.
• Google sign-in (optional) — if you choose to link or sign in with a Google account, we store your Google account identifier and the email address Google gives us. This is used only to recognise you when you sign in — we never access your Gmail, Drive, Calendar or any other Google data.
• Payment information — payments are handled directly by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number. We keep a record of the payment amount, date, method (card or direct debit) and a Stripe reference ID.
• Lessons, homework and messages — lesson notes, homework and messages exchanged with your teacher through the student portal.
• Security information — the IP address and outcome (success/failure) of sign-in attempts, kept to protect accounts from unauthorised access.

Cookies and tracking

Our website uses a small number of cookies and tracking scripts:

• Essential cookies — used to keep you signed in and to protect forms from forgery. The site cannot function without these.
• Analytics and advertising — we use Google Tag Manager and Microsoft Clarity across the site to understand how visitors use it (including session recordings and heatmaps), and the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel on our lesson pages to measure the performance of our social ads.

We don't currently show a cookie-consent banner. You can block or clear these cookies at any time in your browser's settings, and you can opt out of Google's and Meta's ad personalisation through their own account/ad settings pages.

How we use your information

We use your information to run trial lessons and enrolments, process payments, communicate with you about lessons and invoices, respond to enquiries, keep the portal secure, meet our tax and financial record-keeping obligations, and to understand and improve our website and marketing.

Who we share it with

We share information only where it's needed to run the service:

• Stripe — to process payments.
• Google — only if you choose to sign in with a Google account.
• Amazon Web Services — to securely host our files and send email, in AWS's Sydney (Australia) region.
• Google, Meta and Microsoft — via the analytics and advertising tools listed above.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you're enrolled or linked to the academy, and for a period after that to meet our legal and financial record-keeping obligations (generally around five years, in line with Australian tax requirements). You can ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep for those reasons at any time.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you at any time by emailing hello@musicacademy.au. We handle these requests in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Children's information

Many of our students are minors. A student's information is provided and managed by their parent or guardian's account, and the parent/guardian may contact us to review or update it on the student's behalf.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
